Show inline completions when completion menu is visible (#21858)
This changes the behavior of how we display inline completions and
non-inline completions (i.e. completion menu).

Previously we would never show inline completions if a completion menu
was visible, meaning that we'd never show Copilot/Supermaven/...
suggestions if the language server had a suggestion.

With this change, we now display the inline completions even if there is
a completion menu visible.

In that case `<tab>` then accepts the inline completion and `<enter>`
accepts the selected entry in the completion menu.

Release Notes:

- Changed how inline completions (Copilot, Supermaven, ...) and normal
completions (from language servers) interact. Zed will now also show
inline completions when the completion menu is visible. The user can
accept the inline completion with `<tab>` and the active entry in the
completion menu with `<enter>`. Previously, `<tab>` would also select
the active entry in the completion menu.

This PR adds keyboard shortcuts to common interactions you might want to
do in the Zeta rating panel.

This PR also adds a way to fake inline completion requests, as well as
the test data used to create this PR, to make it easier to adjust the UI
in the future.

It also changes the status bar from the text "Zeta" to "ζ", because I
thought it looked cool.

Fixes #21175

Release Notes:

- (breaking change) editor::ShowInlineCompetion is now `option-tab` on
macOS
(not `option-/`). editor::{Next,Previous}Completion are `option-tab` and
  `option-shift-tab` (not `option-[` and `option-]`). This fixes typing
  characters generated by option-{/,[,]} on keyboards like Croatian.

Make use_key_equivalents opt-in (#21662)
When revamping international keyboard shortcuts I wanted to make the
default to use key equivalents; in hindsight, this is not what people
expect.

Release Notes:

- (Breaking) In keymap.json `"use_layout_keys": true` is now the
default. If you want to opt-out of this behaviour, set
`"use_key_equivalents": true` to have keys mapped for your keyboard. See

Add Project Panel navigation actions in netrw mode (#20941)
Release Notes:

- Added "[ c" & "] c" To select prev/next git modified file within the
project panel
- Added "[ d" & "] d" To select prev/next file with diagnostics from an
LSP within the project panel
- Added "{" & "}" To select prev/next directory within the project panel

Note:

I wanted to extend project panel's functionality when netrw is active so
I added some shortcuts that I believe will be helpful for most users. I
tried to keep the default key mappings for the shortcuts inline with
Zed's vim mode.

Allow splitting the terminal panel (#21238)
Closes https://github.com/zed-industries/zed/issues/4351

![it_splits](https://github.com/user-attachments/assets/40de03c9-2173-4441-ba96-8e91537956e0)

Applies the same splitting mechanism, as Zed's central pane has, to the
terminal panel.
Similar navigation, splitting and (de)serialization capabilities are
supported.

Notable caveats:
* zooming keeps the terminal splits' ratio, rather expanding the
terminal pane
* on macOs, central panel is split with `cmd-k up/down/etc.` but `cmd-k`
is a "standard" terminal clearing keybinding on macOS, so terminal panel
splitting is done via `ctrl-k up/down/etc.`
* task terminals are "split" into regular terminals, and also not
persisted (same as currently in the terminal)

Seems ok for the initial version, we can revisit and polish things
later.

Release Notes:

- Added the ability to split the terminal panel

Closes #8628

Release Notes:

- Added support for resizing the current pane using vim keybinds with
the intention to follow the functionality of vim
  - "ctrl-w +" to make a pane taller
  - "ctrl-w -" to make the pane shorter
  - "ctrl-w >" to make a pane wider
  - "ctrl-w <" to make the pane narrower
- Changed vim pre_count and post_count to globals to allow for other
crates to use the vim count. In this case, it allows for resizing by
more than one unit. For example, "10 ctrl-w -" will decrease the height
of the pane 10 times more than "ctrl-w -"
- This pr does **not** add keybinds for making all panes in an axis
equal size and does **not** add support for resizing docks. This is
mentioned because these could be implied by the original issue

keyboard shortcut treatment. Now the keyboard shortcut is shown next to
the hunk that will actually be affected if you press that shortcut.

macOS: Add key equivalents for non-Latin layouts (#20401)
Closes  #16343
Closes #10972

Release Notes:

- (breaking change) On macOS when using a keyboard that supports an
extended Latin character set (e.g. French, German, ...) keyboard
shortcuts are automatically updated so that they can be typed without
`option`. This fixes several long-standing problems where some keyboards
could not type some shortcuts.
- This mapping works the same way as
[macOS](https://developer.apple.com/documentation/swiftui/view/keyboardshortcut(_:modifiers:localization:)).
For example on a German keyboard shortcuts like `cmd->` become `cmd-:`,
`cmd-[` and `cmd-]` become `cmd-ö` and `cmd-ä`. This mapping happens at
the time keyboard layout files are read so the keybindings are visible
in the command palette. To opt out of this behavior for your custom
keyboard shortcuts, set `"use_layout_keys": true` in your binding
section. For the mappings used for each layout [see
here](a890df1863/crates/settings/src/key_equivalents.rs (L7)).

Improve outline panel keyboard navigation (#20385)
Closes https://github.com/zed-industries/zed/issues/20187

Make outline panel more eager to open its entries:

* scroll editor to selected outline entries (before it required an extra
`"outline_panel::Open", { "change_selection": false }` action call)
* make any `Open` action call to behave like `"outline_panel::Open", {
"change_selection": true }` and remove the redundant parameter.
Now opening an entry is equal to double clicking the same entry: the
editor gets scrolled and its selection changes
* add a way to open entries the same way as excerpts are open in multi
buffers (will open the entire file, scroll and place the caret)

* additionally, fix another race issue that caused wrong entry to be
revealed after the selection change

Stop using alt- shortcuts (#20378)
Closes #7688

Release Notes:

- (breaking change) Stop binding keyboard shortcuts to alt-[a-z]. These
get in the way of typing characters. This is usually not an issue for
English speakers because we don't use many characters; but for other
Latin-based languages with diacritics our shortcuts prevent them typing
what they need to type.

This primarily affects Zed's extra features:
* `alt-q` => `cmd-k q` on maOS, `ctrl-k q` on Linux for `editor::Rewrap`
* `alt-z` => `cmd-k z` on macOS `ctrl-k z` on Linux for
`editor::ToggleSoftWrap`
  * `alt-m` => `ctrl-shift-m` for `assistant::ToggleModelSelector`
* `alt-v` => `ctrl-shift-v` for `["editor::MovePageUp", {
"center_cursor": true }]` (macOS only)
* `alt-t` => `cmd-shift-r` on maOS, `ctrl-shift-r` on Linux for
`task::Spawn` (The previous binding for `editor::RevealInFileManager`
now only applies in the project panel)
* `alt-shift-t` => `alt-cmd-r` on maOS, `ctrl-alt-r` on Linux for
`task::Rerun`
* `alt-shift-f` => `ctrl-shift-f` for
`project_panel::SearchInDirectory`.

But also overrides some bindings from Readline.
  * `alt-h` => `alt-backspace` for `editor::DeleteToPreviousWordStart`
  * `alt-d` => `alt-delete` for `editor::DeleteToNextWordEnd`
* `alt-f` => `ctrl-f` for `editor:: MoveToNextWordEnd` (`ctrl-f` was
previously `editor::MoveRight`)
* `alt-b` => `ctrl-b` for `editor::MoveToNextWordStart` (`ctrl-b` was
previously `editor::MoveLeft`)

Note that `alt-t` and `alt-shift-t` have been kept as aliases (because
no-one complained about `t` yet; but we may remove them completely in
the future).

Add surround aliases (#20104)
Closes #19417

Release Notes:

- vim : Added `r` and `a` as aliases for `[` and `<` text objects
(copying vim-surround).
- vim: (breaking change) rebound the function argument text object to
`g`.
- vim: Fixed surrounds to allow `b`/`B`/`r`/`a` anywhere you could use
`(`, `{`, `[`, `<`.

---

- vim: Added `b`, `B`, `r`, `s`, `a` as aliases for `()`, `{}`, `[]`,
`<>` in vim surround mode.
- Adds a new `surround_alias` function where aliases are defined.
- This function is used in `find_surround_pairs` to substitute the
chosen text with the alias
- The keymap is also modified to add support for Square and Angle
brackets when changing surrounds. These two were added to follow the
example of Tim Pope's ubiquitous `vim-surround` plugin.
- I had to overwrite the `vim::Argument` keybind in order to do this. I
moved it to use the `g` modifier. I realize this is a breaking change
and will happily move the `vim::AngleBracket` keymap to a different
letter if you'd like to avoid this. I'm just trying to keep with
convention. Ideally, Users would be able to define surround aliases
themselves in the config file but that's a much bigger task than I'm
able to do right now.
- I also added tests for the new aliases.

Thanks for making such a clean and organized codebase. I was able to
find the relevant section of code rather quickly thanks to this.

Add keybindings for accepting hunks (#19749)
I went with Cmd-Shift-Y on macOS (Ctrl-Shift-Y on Linux) for "yes accept
this individual hunk" - both are currently unused.

I went with Cmd-Shift-A on macOS (Ctrl-Alt-A on Linux) for "accept all
hunks" - both are unused. (Ctrl-Shift-A on Linux was taken, as is
Ctrl-Alt-Y, so although the pairing of Ctrl-Shift-Y and Ctrl-Alt-A isn't
necessarily obvious, the letters seem intuitive - "yes" and "all" - and
those key combinations don't conflict with anything.)

Closes #7417

Release Notes:

- Added basic support for Alacritty's [vi
mode](https://github.com/alacritty/alacritty/blob/master/docs/features.md#vi-mode)
to the built-in terminal (which is using Alacritty under the hood.) The
vi mode can be activated with `ctrl-shift-space` and then supports some
basic motions to navigate through the terminal's scrollback buffer.

## Details

Leverages existing selection functionality from mouse_drag and the
ViMotion API of alacritty to add basic vi motions in the terminal.
Please note, this is only basic functionality (move, select, and yank to
system clipboard) and not a fully functional vim environment (e.g.
search, configurable keybindings, and paste). I figured this would be an
interim solution to the long term, more fleshed out, solution proposed
by @mrnugget.

Add ability to copy assistant code block to clipboard or insert into editor, without manual selection (#17853)
Some notes:

- You can put the cursor on the start or end line with triple backticks,
it doesn't actually have to be inside the block.
- Placing the cursor outside of a code block does nothing.
- Code blocks are determined by counting triple backticks pairs from
either start or end of buffer, and nothing else.
- If you manually select something, the selection takes precedence over
any code blocks.

Release Notes:

- Added the ability to copy surrounding code blocks in the assistant
panel into the clipboard, or inserting them directly into the editor,
without manually selecting. Place cursor anywhere in a code block
(marked by triple backticks) and use the `assistant::CopyCode` action
(`cmd-k c` / `ctrl-k c`) to copy to the clipboard, or the
`assistant::InsertIntoEditor` action (`cmd-<` / `ctrl-<`) to insert into
editor.

Follow-up https://github.com/zed-industries/zed/pull/16085 that fixes
the search deploy to be actually a part of the terminal-related
bindings.

Part of https://github.com/zed-industries/zed/issues/16839

Also

* fixes few other bindings to use `shift` and avoid conflicts with the
existing key bindings.
* adds terminal inline assist to the context menu and makes both the
menu and the button to dynamically adjust to `assist.enabled` settings
change

It is still unclear to me, why certain labels for certain bindings are
wrong (it's still showing `ctrl-w` for closing the terminal tab, and
`shift-insert` instead of `ctrl-shift-v` for Paste, while Insert is near
and has a `ctrl-shift-c` binding shown) but at least the keys work now.

Display buffer/project search entries in the outline panel (#16589)
Prototypes a way to display new entities in the outline panel, making it
less outline.
The design is not final and might be adjusted, but the workflow seems to
be solid enough to keep and iron it out.

* Now, when any project search buffer is activated (multi buffer mode),
or buffer search is open (singleton buffer mode, but is available for
search usages multi buffer too — in that case buffer search overrides
multi buffer's contents display), outline panel displays all search
matches instead of the outline items.

Outline items are not displayed at all during those cases, unless the
buffer search is closed, or a new buffer gets opened, of an active
buffer search matches zero items.

https://github.com/user-attachments/assets/4a3e4faa-7f75-4522-96bb-3761872c753a

* For the multi buffer mode, search matches are grouped under
directories and files, same as outline items

![Screenshot 2024-08-21 at 14 55
01](https://github.com/user-attachments/assets/6dac75e4-be4e-4338-917b-37a32c285b71)

* For buffer search , search matches are displayed one under another

![image](https://github.com/user-attachments/assets/9efcff85-d4c7-4462-9ef5-f76b08e59f20)

For both cases, the entire match line is taken and rendered, with the
hover tooltip showing the line number.
So far it does not look very bad, but I am certain there are bad cases
with long lines and bad indents where it looks not optimal — this part
most probably will be redesigned after some trial.
Or, maybe, it's ok to leave the current state if the horizontal
scrollbar is added?

Clicking the item navigates to the item's position in the editor.
Search item lines are also possible to filter with the outline panel's
filter input.

* Inline panel is now possible to "pin" to track a currently active
editor, to display outlines/search results for that editor even if
another item is activated afterwards:

![image](https://github.com/user-attachments/assets/75fb78c3-0e5f-47b4-ba3a-485c71d7e342)

This is useful in combination with project search results display: now
it's possible to leave the search results pinned in the outline panel
and jump to every search result and back.

If the item the panel was pinned to gets closed, the panel gets back to
its regular state, showing outlines/search results for a currently
active editor.

This PR:

- Makes slash commands easier to compose by adding a concept,
`CompletionIntent`. When using `tab` on a completion in the assistant
panel, that completion item will be expanded but the associated command
will not be run. Using `enter` will still either run the completion item
or continue command composition as before.
- Fixes a bug where running `/diagnostics` on a project with no
diagnostics will delete the entire command, rather than rendering an
empty header.
- Improves the autocomplete rendering for files, showing when
directories are selected and re-arranging the results to have the file
name or trailing directory show first.

lsp: Support Goto Declaration (#15785)
Adds support for [Goto
Declaration](https://microsoft.github.io/language-server-protocol/specifications/lsp/3.17/specification/#textDocument_declaration)
LSP command.

I am particularly interested in [this for Rust
projects](https://rust-analyzer.github.io/manual.html#go-to-declaration),
to be able to navigate to the place where a trait method is declared,
coming from a trait method implementation.

I noticed this was something I could do in VSCode before, but was
somehow missing is Zed. Thanks to the already existing infrastructure
for Goto Definition, I just followed and copy-paste-adapted it for Goto
Declaration.

As a bonus, I added `ctrl-F12` and `alt-ctrl-F12` as default macOS
keybindings for `GoToDeclaration` and `GoToDeclarationSplit`,
respectively. They are not keybindings from another editor, but I
figured they made sense to be grouped along with the other *F12
commands.

### Release Notes:

- Added "Go to declaration" editor action.
- vim: Breaking change to keybindings after introduction of the `Go to
declaration` editor action. The new keybindings are the following (and
can be found [here](https://zed.dev/docs/vim), alongside the other key
bindings):
  - `g d` - Go to definition
  - `g D` - Go to declaration
  - `g y` - Go to type definition
  - `g I` - Go to implementation
