Add editor: fold at level <level> commands (#19750)
Closes https://github.com/zed-industries/zed/issues/5142

Note that I only moved the cursor to the top of the file so it wouldn't
jump - the commands work no matter where you are in the file.

Also, is VS Code doing this right thing here? or is it busted?

Add keybindings for accepting hunks (#19749)
I went with Cmd-Shift-Y on macOS (Ctrl-Shift-Y on Linux) for "yes accept
this individual hunk" - both are currently unused.

I went with Cmd-Shift-A on macOS (Ctrl-Alt-A on Linux) for "accept all
hunks" - both are unused. (Ctrl-Shift-A on Linux was taken, as is
Ctrl-Alt-Y, so although the pairing of Ctrl-Shift-Y and Ctrl-Alt-A isn't
necessarily obvious, the letters seem intuitive - "yes" and "all" - and
those key combinations don't conflict with anything.)

Release Notes:

- Added keybindings for applying hunks in Proposed Changes

Closes #7417

Release Notes:

- Added basic support for Alacritty's [vi
mode](https://github.com/alacritty/alacritty/blob/master/docs/features.md#vi-mode)
to the built-in terminal (which is using Alacritty under the hood.) The
vi mode can be activated with `ctrl-shift-space` and then supports some
basic motions to navigate through the terminal's scrollback buffer.

## Details

Leverages existing selection functionality from mouse_drag and the
ViMotion API of alacritty to add basic vi motions in the terminal.
Please note, this is only basic functionality (move, select, and yank to
system clipboard) and not a fully functional vim environment (e.g.
search, configurable keybindings, and paste). I figured this would be an
interim solution to the long term, more fleshed out, solution proposed
by @mrnugget.

Ctrl+Shift+Space to enter Vi mode while in the terminal (Same default
binding in alacritty)

Add ability to copy assistant code block to clipboard or insert into editor, without manual selection (#17853)
Some notes:

- You can put the cursor on the start or end line with triple backticks,
it doesn't actually have to be inside the block.
- Placing the cursor outside of a code block does nothing.
- Code blocks are determined by counting triple backticks pairs from
either start or end of buffer, and nothing else.
- If you manually select something, the selection takes precedence over
any code blocks.

Release Notes:

- Added the ability to copy surrounding code blocks in the assistant
panel into the clipboard, or inserting them directly into the editor,
without manually selecting. Place cursor anywhere in a code block
(marked by triple backticks) and use the `assistant::CopyCode` action
(`cmd-k c` / `ctrl-k c`) to copy to the clipboard, or the
`assistant::InsertIntoEditor` action (`cmd-<` / `ctrl-<`) to insert into
editor.

Display buffer/project search entries in the outline panel (#16589)
Prototypes a way to display new entities in the outline panel, making it
less outline.
The design is not final and might be adjusted, but the workflow seems to
be solid enough to keep and iron it out.

* Now, when any project search buffer is activated (multi buffer mode),
or buffer search is open (singleton buffer mode, but is available for
search usages multi buffer too — in that case buffer search overrides
multi buffer's contents display), outline panel displays all search
matches instead of the outline items.

Outline items are not displayed at all during those cases, unless the
buffer search is closed, or a new buffer gets opened, of an active
buffer search matches zero items.

https://github.com/user-attachments/assets/4a3e4faa-7f75-4522-96bb-3761872c753a

* For the multi buffer mode, search matches are grouped under
directories and files, same as outline items

![Screenshot 2024-08-21 at 14 55
01](https://github.com/user-attachments/assets/6dac75e4-be4e-4338-917b-37a32c285b71)

* For buffer search , search matches are displayed one under another

![image](https://github.com/user-attachments/assets/9efcff85-d4c7-4462-9ef5-f76b08e59f20)

For both cases, the entire match line is taken and rendered, with the
hover tooltip showing the line number.
So far it does not look very bad, but I am certain there are bad cases
with long lines and bad indents where it looks not optimal — this part
most probably will be redesigned after some trial.
Or, maybe, it's ok to leave the current state if the horizontal
scrollbar is added?

Clicking the item navigates to the item's position in the editor.
Search item lines are also possible to filter with the outline panel's
filter input.

* Inline panel is now possible to "pin" to track a currently active
editor, to display outlines/search results for that editor even if
another item is activated afterwards:

![image](https://github.com/user-attachments/assets/75fb78c3-0e5f-47b4-ba3a-485c71d7e342)

This is useful in combination with project search results display: now
it's possible to leave the search results pinned in the outline panel
and jump to every search result and back.

If the item the panel was pinned to gets closed, the panel gets back to
its regular state, showing outlines/search results for a currently
active editor.

This PR:

- Makes slash commands easier to compose by adding a concept,
`CompletionIntent`. When using `tab` on a completion in the assistant
panel, that completion item will be expanded but the associated command
will not be run. Using `enter` will still either run the completion item
or continue command composition as before.
- Fixes a bug where running `/diagnostics` on a project with no
diagnostics will delete the entire command, rather than rendering an
empty header.
- Improves the autocomplete rendering for files, showing when
directories are selected and re-arranging the results to have the file
name or trailing directory show first.

lsp: Support Goto Declaration (#15785)
Adds support for [Goto
Declaration](https://microsoft.github.io/language-server-protocol/specifications/lsp/3.17/specification/#textDocument_declaration)
LSP command.

I am particularly interested in [this for Rust
projects](https://rust-analyzer.github.io/manual.html#go-to-declaration),
to be able to navigate to the place where a trait method is declared,
coming from a trait method implementation.

I noticed this was something I could do in VSCode before, but was
somehow missing is Zed. Thanks to the already existing infrastructure
for Goto Definition, I just followed and copy-paste-adapted it for Goto
Declaration.

As a bonus, I added `ctrl-F12` and `alt-ctrl-F12` as default macOS
keybindings for `GoToDeclaration` and `GoToDeclarationSplit`,
respectively. They are not keybindings from another editor, but I
figured they made sense to be grouped along with the other *F12
commands.

### Release Notes:

- Added "Go to declaration" editor action.
- vim: Breaking change to keybindings after introduction of the `Go to
declaration` editor action. The new keybindings are the following (and
can be found [here](https://zed.dev/docs/vim), alongside the other key
bindings):
  - `g d` - Go to definition
  - `g D` - Go to declaration
  - `g y` - Go to type definition
  - `g I` - Go to implementation

lsp: Implement textDocument/signatureHelp for ProjectClientState::Local environment (#12909)
Closes https://github.com/zed-industries/zed/issues/5155
Closes https://github.com/zed-industries/zed/issues/4879

# Purpose
There was no way to know what to put in function signatures or struct
fields other than hovering at the moment. Therefore, it was necessary to
implement LSP's `textDocument/signatureHelp`.

I tried my best to match the surrounding coding style, but since this is
my first contribution, I believe there are various aspects that may be
lacking. I would greatly appreciate your code review.

# Description
When the window is displayed, the current argument or field at the
cursor's position is automatically bolded. If the cursor moves and there
is nothing to display, the window closes automatically.
To minimize changes and reduce the burden of review and debugging, the
SignatureHelp feature is implemented only when `is_local` is `true`.
Some `unimplemented!()` macros are embedded, but rest assured that they
are not called in this implementation.

# How to try it out
Press `cmd + i` (MacOS), `ctrl + i` (Linux).

Add keyboard shortcuts for the prompts on Linux (#13915)
This change adds ability to choose any action from prompts, not just the
default one and cancel as Zed has right now. For example, when a user
tries to close a file with edits in it the prompt offers "Don't save"
option that can be selected only with mouse. Now you can use arrows,
tab/shift-tab to pick action and enter/space to confirm it.

Introduce a New assistant: insert into editor Action (#13467)
This implements the functionality (paired with @as-cii), but we weren't

Introduce an outline panel (#12637)
Adds a new panel: `OutlinePanel` which looks very close to project
panel:

<img width="256" alt="Screenshot 2024-06-10 at 23 19 05"
src="https://github.com/zed-industries/zed/assets/2690773/c66e6e78-44ec-4de8-8d60-43238bb09ae9">

has similar settings and keymap (actions work in the `OutlinePanel`
context and are under `outline_panel::` namespace), with two notable
differences:
* no "edit" actions such as cut/copy/paste/delete/etc.
* directory auto folding is enabled by default

Empty view:
<img width="841" alt="Screenshot 2024-06-10 at 23 19 11"
src="https://github.com/zed-industries/zed/assets/2690773/dc8bf37c-5a70-4fd5-9b57-76271eb7a40c">

When editor gets active, the panel displays all related files in a tree
(similar to what the project panel does) and all related excerpts'
outlines under each file.
Same as in the project panel, directories can be expanded or collapsed,
unfolded or folded; clicking file entries or outlines scrolls the buffer
to the corresponding excerpt; changing editor's selection reveals the
corresponding outline in the panel.

The panel is applicable to any singleton buffer:

Start on a database-backed prompt library (#12468)
Using the file system as a database seems like it's easy, but it's
actually a real pain. I'd like to use LMDB to store the prompts locally
so we have more control. We can always add an export option, but I want
the source of truth to be somewhere other than the file system.

So far, I have a PromptStore which is global to the application and can
be initialized on startup. Then there's a `PromptLibrary` which is
intended to be the root of a new kind of Zed window. I haven't actually
seen pixels yet, but I've sketched out the basics needed to create a new
prompt, save, etc.

Still lots to figure out but the foundations of being backed by a DB and
rendering in an independent window are in place.

Show Delete shortcuts in project panel context menu (#12250)
Closes https://github.com/zed-industries/zed/issues/12234 by making both
default keymap and the menu `Delete` action declarations to have the
same `skip_prompt` value.
`Trash` action got more explicit `skip_prompt` declarations in this PR,
but those were the defaults already, so not changed.

Now, `Delete` action in the project panel will always show a prompt
before removing, both on the keystroke and menu item click.
To note, VSCode does skips prompt for the `Trash` action, so we might
want to change that too (later?), the PR does not alter it.

Improve Find/Replace shortcuts (#10297)
This PR changes ways the Find/Replace functionality in the
Buffer/Project Search is accessible via shortcuts. It makes those panels
work the same way as in VS Code and Sublime Text.

The details are described in the issue: [Make Find/Replace easier to
use](https://github.com/zed-industries/zed/issues/9142)

There's a difficulty with the Linux keybindings:

VS Code uses on MacOS (this PR replicates it):

| Action | Buffer Search | Project Search |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Find | `cmd-f` | `cmd-shift-f` |
| Replace | `cmd-alt-f` | `cmd-shift-h` |

VS Code uses on Linux (this PR replicates all but one):

| Action | Buffer Search | Project Search |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Find | `ctrl-f` | `ctrl-shift-f` |
| Replace | `ctrl-h`  | `ctrl-shift-h` |

The problem is that `ctrl-h` is already taken by the `editor::Backspace`
action in Zed on Linux.

There's two options here:

1. Change keybinding for `editor::Backspace` on Linux to something else,
and use `ctrl-h` for the "replace in buffer" action.
2. Use some other keybinding on Linux in Zed. This PR introduces
`ctrl-r` for this purpose, though I'm not sure it's the best choice.

What do you think?

Add spawning of tasks without saving them in the task stack (#9951)
These tasks are not considered for reruns with `task::Rerun`.
This PR tears a bunch of stuff up around tasks:
- `menu::SecondaryConfirm` for tasks is gonna spawn a task without
storing it in history instead of being occupied by oneshot tasks. This
is done so that cmd-clicking on the menu item actually does something
meaningful.
- `menu::UseSelectedQuery` got moved into picker, as tasks are it's only
user (and it doesn't really make sense as a menu action).

TODO:
- [x] add release note
- [x] Actually implement the core of this feature, which is spawning a
task without saving it in history, lol.

Fixes #9804
Release Notes:

- Added "fire-and-forget" task spawning; `menu::SecondaryConfirm` in
tasks modal now spawns a task without registering it as the last spawned
task for the purposes of `task::Rerun`. By default you can spawn a task
in this fashion with cmd+enter or by holding cmd and clicking on a task
entry in a list. Spawning oneshots has been rebound to `option-enter`
(under a `picker::ConfirmInput` name). Fixes #9804 (breaking change)
- Moved `menu::UseSelectedQuery` action to `picker` namespace (breaking
change).

Add tab switcher (#7987)
The Tab Switcher implementation (#7653):
- `ctrl-tab` opens the Tab Switcher and moves selection to the
previously selcted tab. It also cycles selection forward.
- `ctrl-shift-tab` opens the Tab Switcher and moves selection to the
last tab in the list. It also cycles selection backward.
- Tab is selected and the Tab Switcher is closed on the shortcut
modifier key (`ctrl` by default) release.
- List items are in reverse activation history order.
- The list reacts to the item changes in background (new tab, tab
closed, tab title changed etc.)

Intentionally not in scope of this PR:
- File icons
- Close buttons

I will come back to these features. I think they need to be implemented
in separate PRs, and be synchronized with changes in how tabs are
rendered, to reuse the code as it's done in the current implementation.
The Tab Switcher looks usable even without them.

Known Issues:

Tab Switcher doesn't react to mouse click on a list item. It's not a tab
switcher specific problem, it looks like ctrl-clicks are not handled the
same way in Zed as cmd-clicks. For instance, menu items can be activated
with cmd-click, but don't react to ctrl-click. Since the Tab Switcher's
default keybinding is `ctrl-tab`, the user can only click an item with
`ctrl` pushed down, thus preventing `on_click()` from firing.

fixes #7653, #7321

Release Notes:

- Added Tab Switcher which is accessible via `ctrl-tab` and
`ctrl-shift-tab` (#7653) (#7321)

Related issues:

- Unblocks #7356, I hope 😄

How it looks and works (it's only `ctrl-tab`'s and `ctrl-shift-tab`'s,
no `enter`'s or mouse clicks):

Introduce InlineCompletionProvider (#9777)
This pull request introduces a new `InlineCompletionProvider` trait,
which enables making `Editor` copilot-agnostic and lets us push all the
copilot functionality into the `copilot_ui` module. Long-term, I would
like to merge `copilot` and `copilot_ui`, but right now `project`
depends on `copilot`, which makes this impossible.

The reason for adding this new trait is so that we can experiment with
other inline completion providers and swap them at runtime using config
settings.

Please, note also that we renamed some of the existing copilot actions
to be more agnostic (see release notes below). We still kept the old
actions bound for backwards-compatibility, but we should probably remove
them at some later version.

Also, as a drive-by, we added new methods to the `Global` trait that let
you read or mutate a global directly, e.g.:

```rs
MyGlobal::update(cx, |global, cx| {
});
```

Release Notes:

- Renamed the `copilot::Suggest` action to
`editor::ShowInlineCompletion`
- Renamed the `copilot::NextSuggestion` action to
`editor::NextInlineCompletion`
- Renamed the `copilot::PreviousSuggestion` action to
`editor::PreviousInlineCompletion`
- Renamed the `editor::AcceptPartialCopilotSuggestion` action to
`editor::AcceptPartialInlineCompletion`

Action release handlers (#8782)
This PR adds support for handling action releases &mdash; events that
are fired when the user releases all the modifier keys that were part of
an action-triggering shortcut.

If the user holds modifiers and invokes several actions sequentially via
shortcuts (same or different), only the last action is "released" when
its modifier keys released.

~The following methods were added to `Div`:~
- ~`capture_action_release()`~
- ~`on_action_release()`~
- ~`on_boxed_action_release()`~

~They work similarly to `capture_action()`, `on_action()` and
`on_boxed_action()`.~

See the implementation details in [this
comment](https://github.com/zed-industries/zed/pull/8782#issuecomment-2009154646).

First pass at making a linux keymap (#8082)
Undoubtedly not perfect, but this should be something we can work off
of.

Note that matching keybindings with ctrl in them is currently broken on
linux (or at least x11). This keymap might just manage to be less useful
than using the macos one on linux until that is fixed... the proximate
cause of this is that the `key` field of the `Keystroke` struct looks
like `"\u{e}"` instead of `"n"` when `ctrl-n` is pressed.
